I can see why ignorant, uneducated people would disagree, but then many people watch daytime TV. Uneducated opinions are worthless in science.

They may be worthless in science, but must have value elsewhere otherwise this article would not care what the non-scientific public believes. Whoever wrote this article seems distressed that 54% of the population does not believe in evolution.

I give a possible explanation why this is true, yet I still do not understand why they care if people believe they evolved or not. Unless you are in the biological sciences it should not matter what you believe about evolution.

It is distressing to see widespread public ignorance on an issue of some importance. I could live with people in denial of evolution if it didn't go hand in hand with denial of the methodology of science.

I do not single out conservatives as being anti-science. I've spent my life living among the Left, and they are equally anti-science. They just have different issues.
