I believe that there have been some threads on that issue. IIRC, it was at the time there were some threads about teaching creation and ID in the British Isles.
I think the thread you're referring to was on 10 March, Creationism to be taught on GCSE science syllabus (you can't keep a good idea down). I made several posts to that thread pointing out that many readers were misreading the article, for it is NOT the case that Creationism is currently or planned to be taught in the British schools curriculum.
I recently (28 April) posted a thread to put the record straight, UK Government agrees creationism cannot be taught in science. If you read this article, you will see that the title of the first article was flat-out wrong, as was the misunderstanding many took from it. You guys should have listened to me! :-)
Creationism/ID can certainly be (and is, in some schools) taught in Religious Education classes, but it is not an exam subject in the national curriculum. My own daughters attend a church school, and even here they don't spend time in science class on anything other than science (which is as it should be, in my view).
There are a handful of private schools financed by Evangelical Christian groups and a number of Islamic schools which teach Creationism, which they are free to do. However, there are no national exams on the subject and hence no qualifications to be gained by the 'study'.
