I'd love to put my money where my mouth is, but unfortunately, my insurance costs now exceed the amount of my car payment and I and the other ladies in my age group are now taking concealed carry classes (at the recommendation of our police officer at the neighborhood watch) because of all the rapes, robberies and beatings that have been going on in our once peaceful neighborhood. Two ladies in the past 6 months were savagely beaten, robbed and raped (ladies in their 60's BTW) in my immediate neighborhood alone. The other night I stood in my very own kitchen with a gun aimed at the forehead of an illegal who was attempting to break into my house. How do I know he was illegal? Because he was captured by the police who had been chasing him just two houses down from me.

So as you can see, I already HAVE put my money where my mouth is young man. I am no longer safe in a city where I have lived for over 60 years. I have watched Phoenix go from a beautiful, clean city to a filthy, third world country. I have watched stores that I have gone to all my life shut down because they could no longer absorb the shoplifting and theft. I have friends who are teachers who are retiring early because they can no longer stand to teach in schools where english is barely spoken and they must neglect english speaking children in order to teach others how to merely understand the language, they've just given up. Don't try to tell me what I see every single day. As to the statistics, they are all over this forum, I am not your mother and will not do your homework for you. Educate yourself.

In the 1980s I used to live in Phoenix and it was a very nice place to be although even then illegals were pouring in. I had to get out of the apartment complex I was living in because the crime was getting bad. Car break-ins and broken windows were common. Still it's very sad to hear how much worse it's gotten.
