This is rotten news, but it's all about getting China to cooperate (or at least abstain) on Security Council votes on sanctions against Iran and North Korea.

Yes, The Chinese Communist magic beans, guaranteed to solve all our problems.

Bush has vowed to defend Taiwan against China"

When did he make that vow? Do you have the quote?

Screw this. We should recognize Chen as a foreign head of state. Let China put that in their commie pipes and smoke it.

Yes.

Bush has lost my support, it is sad to say.

Easy to bitch from a computer keyboard. Welcome to the real world.

That's what Chamberlain said.

Churchill stuck to convictions and actions matched rhetoric. He won.

We've lost.

"They [China} are when we're eyeball-to-eyeball with Iran and they're the go-between."

China is not going to give up Iranian oil for anyone or support us in any way for sanctions against Iran. They, and Russia have already stated this as fact.

Mr. Bush has embarrassed both the American and the Taiwanese people over this childish decision.

Oh yeah, this will keep Israel from being bombed. The speciousness of some comments.

The complete uselessness of some comments. If you don't see how my complete comment--not just the half a sentence you lopped off to make your silly point--fits in with the whole story, you're beyond hope.

US to do "whatever it took" to defend Taiwan - Bush

Bush Vows Taiwan Support: Says U.S. Will Defend It if China Attacks

I believe we remain committed on defending Taiwan.

Unfortunately, Taiwan has not taken advantage of their opportunities to purchase defense systems from the U.S. and other suppliers. It would be helpful if they did so.

Tell that to the Marines who were slaughtered in Lebanon.

Bush is dealing with a much more complicated world situation. He's got a pair as big if not bigger than Ronaldo Maximo.

Bush, Clinton, what's the difference; they are both Chinese owned puppets.

Translation: "I can't support my incredibly ludicrous comment that allowing the President of Taiwan to stop in the US for a couple days will cause Isreal to be bombed so I will spew insults".

He still has my tentative support (for what it's worth, as I'm Canadian), but it's waning thin. I supported him originally, thinking I was supporting a real conservative. Not a RINO who throws out a few catchphrases, and then does the same ol', same ol' as Slick Willy.

I don't understand. Taiwanese President Chen Shui-bian is just seeking to make the transits and travel connections that Americans won't do.

Arms to Iran in exchange for hostages was a disgrace. Approved by Reagan.

Viewing Reagan through rose colored glasses does him no favors.

How quickly people forget, The enemy of my enemy is my friend. A true leader must make hard choices that will be unpopular, but they are needed for the welfare of all.

This is what having mucho big US investments in China does to US foriegn policy. This is, literally, BUSH trade policy screwing US foreign policy. As with immigration, etc.. green is more important than red, white and blue. But, let's hear the free-traitor choir do it's rendition of "greed is good.."
