China wants to appear to be friendly towards Iran -- China siply wants to "appear" friendly? This is siple fantasy. China has associated itself with Iran and this regie for a long tie. Immediately after President Bush gave his Axis of Evil speech Jiang Zemin went off to hold a State visit in Iran where their long tie alliance was continued. China has provided Iran materials for missiles and chemical weapons and has long been providing nuclear technology.

How would you know? Again, pure fiction on your part. You have no basis for saying this.

You two actually believe: i) we need China to pressure Iran and ii) China is interested in pressuring Iran?
That's a rhetorical question, obviously. Please outline the method of the pressure we need China's help to carry out. I assume you mean the UN.
If you can't figure out why China doesn't want a nuclear-armed Iran, then you lack the knowledge base for an informed discussiona and I can't help you with this issue.
In other words, it's so obvious why China doesn't want Iran to have nuclear weapons that you can easily figure this out yourself. If you can't figure it out, then I can't help you.
Economic pressure. China does a lot of business with Iran, and China could cancel or postpone some deals as one method of applying pressure on Iran.
