All politics aside, as a history lover, I enjoyed Washington DC and all of Virginia visiting the President's homes and historical sites. Not enough time to get to all the places, but a couple of highlights were: 1) all the Monuments in DC, especially Jefferson's Memorial...2) Old Ebbetts Grill recommended to me by a fellow freeper is the BEST for its chicken and atmosphere! (1 block from the WH just north of the Washington Hotel) Also McCarthur's memorial in Norfolk, VA is a MUST for any person who values our military past, present and future! What a great American he was.
