Hoping to "wake up" Americans to the crisis of illegal immigration, opponents of President Bush's reform plan will gather in Crawford, Texas, Saturday in an event dubbed "Rumble at the Ranch."
Bush's ranch, the location of many anti-war protests, is located outside Crawford.
The event is being sponsored by the Texas Minutemen and Latino Americans for Immigration Reform, according to the website A Reckoning.
Lou Ann Anderson, executive producer of the Lynn Woolley radio show, is helping to organize the rally and hopes other talk-radio hosts will join in.
"We want hosts all over the country, from local radio stations to the biggest stars of syndication to the faces we see each night on cable TV to come and be a part of the Rumble," said Anderson in a statement. "Talk radio and TV has been heroic on this issue. Without the daily updates from talk show hosts, the American public would be getting only one side of this issue."
Added Anderson: "Many hosts who support Bush administration policies openly question the president's handling of immigration. Terry Anderson is a host on KRLA in Los Angeles who covers immigration on a regular basis. Terry will bring his message to the Rumble: 'If you're not mad, you're not paying attention.'"

Also scheduled to speak in Crawford is Jim Gilchrist, the founder of the Minutemen border patrol group who is considering a run for president in 2008 representing the Constitution Party.
The organizers' site states the rally, scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday next to the Crawford Community Service Center, is seen "as a means of waking the American people, Congress and the media to the willful disregard for immigration law by this president and his Cabinet."
Besides hearing from leaders in the immigration-reform movement, attendees will listen to speeches from political candidates who are in favor of tougher border enforcement and opposed to Bush's guest-worker program and proposal to give illegal aliens the chance to become citizens.
Nationally, if there was one party that their whole platform was defending our country and that was it, I'd vote for them.
All I care about federally is that our nation is defended well, and that includes defending us against illegal immigrants.
Get the feds out of education, welfare, abortion, etc. Let the states do what they want on those issues.
The Dems are just completely out to lunch.
The third parties only split the country into thirds. Can you imagine? No more bipartisan politics but tri-partisan politics? Good grief.

I agree with you, where exactly do we turn? Obviously the "R" side has sold us out too. To continue to vote for them is to get more of the same. We know what we will get with the "D" vote.
We are screwed either way. It is like the choice between taking slow-acting poison or taking fast-acting poison.

If the CP had taken a strong stance on the WOT, the two party system in America would be headed for extinction.
It's still all about the WOT.
If there would be a terrorist attack in our country, such as a nuclear bomb exploded in a ship in New York harbor or on the Potomac River as close to our center of government as the terrorists could get it, even the 'rats would wake up.
But that still wouldn't address the gasoline prices that the Republicans have done nothing about since the gas shortages in 1972 or the illegal alien problem that the Republicans have had since Bush II got in office to address.
I agree that things would be even worse with the 'rats in charge but they are plenty bad enough with the Republicans in charge.
Its not dark yet but its getting there.
As for people waking up, they never went to sleep really. The MSM ignores the WOT..the people don't. That's fine with me because the terrorists think we are tiring.

Ummm...no. Trust me on this. No. Really. He's OK at founding and organizing the MMP, may have been OK if he'd been elected to Congress, but President - No way. I know enough about his politics to say that even I, a Minuteman, would never vote for him. Really.

They are not ignoring the base. I have watched them try to jump through hoops for the base over the last year. The MSM are the ones that are distorting our message. In addition, FR has been infiltrated. When the big issues come up, just watch who shows up.
What big issues are you talking about, other than the ones I have already mentioned?
Guns? Obeying the Constitution, which neither party is doing?
I won't say it's a good idea to live here on FR as much as I do but you will see a pattern if you do. When the base speaks in unison..they listen.

Uh, that would be the illegal alien problem since...well...in any case, it happened on Reagan's watch. He was the last President to grant amnesty.
If only the (R) politicians would start acting like (R) again and quit pandering to the illegal invaders and quit acting like the (D) by passing their socialist agenda as the Mccain/kennedy/Specter/Graham/Martinez bill and would secure the border with armed guards and get serious about being tough with the militant marches than I believe no one would be looking for alternatives!!

I'll never pull a "D" lever. Sometimes a "D" is the only one running for a local office and I don't pull that lever.
The Republicans are cutting their own thoats by letting the illegals stay in the country. They will vote, sooner or later, and less than 10% of them will ever vote Republican.
They are giving control of the country to the 'rats and they will have only themselves to blame.
We have to convince people...there are a lot of us..ok?
Not everyone wakes up one day and says, "oh yea, the boarders need to be closed." America is a big place.
