I keep wanting to load up all the kids for an out west trip of a few weeks one summer...but we c
always head to Seagrove FL (Nashville home)
My old great great aunt is all the family left out in Santa Fe. She's 94 but still lives at home.
We would fly in my dad's Bonanza to Santa Fe and then drive up thru Taos to Raton to Walsenburg and then CS for a night at that fancy big old hotel and then over to Gunnison and around the University range and finish off down near Lake City-Silverton and back thru Farmington to SF...annual ritual thru my early to mid teens
later as college age, ski trps to Summit county and summer climbing at Mt Elbert and Uncompaghre and lotsa hiking in the San Juans and Animas river areas.
back when Telluride was nothing
oh well...memory lane.
Enjoy!
The Broadmoor Hotel? Wow. World class, five star and very expensive. Maybe the Antlers Hotel? A downtown institution for 125 years.
Memories are good.
