Doctor shopping?
Ha!!! They should see me when I'm passing a kidney stone. I shop ER's, threaten staff, make comments about people's parents being married or their relationships with their wife/sister!
Rush is a lightweight.

In Rushs case, however, state attorneys publicized their communications with Rushs counsel. That AG should be permanently disbarred due to this action alone.

What an outrageous comment !
Limbaugh got a "sweetheart deal"-pre-trial disposition. If he had been some truck driver nobody ever heard of,he'd be doing time-or on intensive supervision probation.
Well, let's see if he can complete his supervision time without getting into hot water.(If not,he gets scheduled for pre-trial conference and/or trial.)
Whether you agree with him politically or not,he got the deal of a lifetime !

I like Rush, I think hes a genuine conservative, but I also think he'll compromise his true opinions for the good of the party, which I think can be dangerous. Regardless his show is entertaining and informative, but I won't feel sorry for Rush unless he publicly changes his opinion on the WODs. I'm fairly sure he isn't an addict, because honestly 40 pills, most hard core pain killer addicts take that many in a day or two, but it should be clear that the government has way to much power to punish a crime that is victimless. The only victims in drugs are those who are minding their own business and are caught in cross fire between gangs or between gangs and cops, the latter who love to play urban soldier.

There is no case. There were only 4 doctors involved. 3 of them were involved in a group practice. In a group practice it is each of the doctors responsibility to check what other doctors in the group have prescribed.
The 4th doctor was the one that operated on Rush's ear. He supposedly gave Rush a prescription for pain while doing the work on his ear to restore his hearing. The specialist did not check with the group practice. But that is not really doctor shopping. A prescription for back pain and a separate prescription for ear pain is not doctor shopping.
There was no case. No case at all.

Whether you agree with him politically or not,he got the deal of a lifetime ! Barbara
Streisand
! My father was on the board of a drug treatement center for several years. There were quite a few patients who went through treatment there under deferred ajudication agreements requiring an addict go through treatment and after care and keep off of drugs for a specified time after which charges would be dropped and the criminal record expunged. The only reason Rush was prosecuted was his fame and influence. Rush was only obtaining drugs that he had intitially been prescribed due to legitimate medical problems. He was not using bogus prescriptions as a method of obtaining drugs for resale on the black market which is really the intent of the law outlawing "doctor shopping". By your reasoning, Senator McCain's wife should have been prosecuted for getting addicted to Darvocet after her spinal surgery. I think it is crazy to prosecute people for getting addicted to drugs prescibed to treat legitimate medical conditions.

Time to head back to the DU barn where you can find people who truly agree with you........this site is for adults. Do the math, newbie. I've been a member for 5 years, you haven't even reached two.
You are the new breed that can't debate. Ok, Rushbot, realize you're as intellectually weak as the DU crowd and that Rush is a hypocrite. Bravo!

I believe the hearing loss was caused by Rush's intake of painkillers. Correct?

They didn't have to criminalize human tragedy. The War on Drugs did that for them long ago. With Rush cheering them on.
And still not retracting a word of it. For shame.

America's favorite junkie thinks he can get away with preaching hard prison time for drugs and not do time himself. I only listen to conservatives who don't make Ted Kennedy look unhypocritical.

I don't care about semantics, they took his fingerprints and mug shot, he was arrested. Why is he trying to spin this??....I love Rush but this is the kind of B.S politicians do. I'd also have preferred he fought it to its conclusion and won but I know this was the easier and definitely cheaper way out. Did you read this article? This is explained very succinctly. Rush has not "spun" anything.

I believe the hearing loss was caused by Rush's intake of painkillers. Correct? No. Mere speculation. As I have posted here before, five or six years ago I got Sudden Hearing Loss. It was hell. Sounded like there was a band in my ear playing loud music backwards, then my hearing went. I was very fortunate however, 2 rounds of steroids corrected it over the process of 6 or 7 weeks, and my hearing was restored due to the very aggressive treatment my doc ordered, after I was diagnosed quickly.
I have never taken prescription painkillers.

It's absurd to define someone taking legal prescription pills to ward off pain from an incurable back problem as a "junkie."
