Illegal immigrants, supporters plan protests across Florida

HOMESTEAD -- Illegal immigrants and their allies in Florida gathered Monday at marches, prayers and demonstrations on a planned national day of economic protest, boycotting work, school and shopping to show their importance to the country.

At the state's first event of the day, police estimated that about 1,200 people marched in the rural city of Homestead, home to one the state's largest Mexican immigrant populations and many major growers of fruits, vegetables and nursery plants.

Protesters waved Mexican, U.S. and Central American flags, recited the pledge of allegiance in English and held a moment of silence for those who died trying to cross the U.S.-Mexican border. Unlike in previous marches, most signs were written in English, possibly due to the backlash over the release of a Spanish-language version of the national anthem.

I heard on the news this morning that homeland security had said they would not arrest them.

That is too bad about Fox, because CNBC has today mentioned "illegal immigrants" when showing a clip of Homestead, FL. It was the host Haines who played the fool.

I'm fed up with these ILLEGALS constantly being called "immigrants." Just now on Fox radio, during the "on the hour" news radio, the announcer mentioned "immigrant" rallies, "immigrant" marches, etc.
Bullcrap.

My Italian grandmother came to this country in the early 20th century. She was sponsored by her brother, who was already in the U.S., LEGALLY. She came over to New York with the permission of the U.S. government, was processed through Ellis Island, went through medical checks, and then went to work in a clothing "sweatshop" in New York City. She received no welfare, no food stamps, nothing was translated into Italian for her, no free medical care,
no free nothing. And not once did she march in the street carrying an Italian flag!

I wonder how these illegals would react if counterprotesters burn some mexican flags today.
I think they might get a little violent.
The media would hate to have to report that.
Illegal Immigrants attack US citizen's.
MSM probably would characterize the US citizen's as fringe lunatics.

A thief is a thief is a thief, putting lipstick on a pig does not a beauty queen make.

Just wait until these illegal immigrant criminals get their amnesty, the flood gates will then be open for tens of millions more. The same ones granted amnesty today, will become the sponsors for the illegals of tomorrow.

I just heard on the news, at the top of the hour, that all of Gloria Estefan's restaurants will be closed today to show solidatiry for illegal immigrant's!

I say we should boycott any and all establishments for the rest of the year, who have closed today.

All I seem to find online (news) is the same story over and over in various online papers. We must have the laziest press in the world. Perhaps we need to import some journalists who will work for less and do a better job....

I didn't even know she had restraunts. Otherwise I would boycott them (are they called Gloria Estefans?)

You risk being labeled a "xenophobe" if you dare to state the obvious like on CNBC earlier. It is appalling and tragic.

Yes, two that I can find:

Larios On The Beach
820 Ocean Drive
Miami Beach, FL

and

Bongos Cuban Café
Walt Disney World

She is also opening a restaurant in Mexico.

I always thought she was Cuban. Most of the Cubans I have met here are NOT in solidarity with the illegal aliens.
Anyway, I NEVER go to Miami, so I can say I'm boycotting her restraunt, but in reality, I wouldn't be eating there anyway. I'm going to take a drive around here later tho, and see whose closed, and them I WILL boycott. Even if I have to cook every night for the rest of my life.

Someone posted an article yesterday that said,
"The US Border Patrol would maintain its neutral position."
So, there it is: "US Lite" or `Federales Norte'.

Yup, like children, call people names if you disagree with them. Sadly, for alot of Americans, it works.

Neutral position! Sheesh, we really have fallen down the rabbit hole. I wonder if the IRS will have a neutral position on tax cheats...
