What does SCA stand for? And how do you 'reenact the Middle Ages?

Do you just turn black and die of the plague? /joke........in case that wasn't obvious...... :)

True story - my freshman year in college, I was heading to the dorm one day and walked by the basketball court. There I saw two people, wearing homemade armor, beating the heck out of each other with broomsticks. I knew I wasn't in Kansas anymore.

Later, I found out it was just some "SCA" thing. As I recall, it stands for "Society for Creative Anachronism". Those people were strange, but they're probably running the country now.

Hi, Ohio! I don't know what SCA stands for, but a local Hoosier SCA chapter rented a hall from a company I used to work for. They dressed up in medieval garb and used shields and swords and "fought". They also sat and talked and ate a lot. :-)
