"My only relief was to turn to government assistance for housing, food, and other needs and I was able to survive with dignity."

Keep in mind that if it were not for compassionate conservatives working their arses off you wouldn't even be getting that assistance.

It takes our money and our votes to get you that assistance.

As for your church..they don't support people monetarily on a permanent basis, they are in the spiritual business so I don't get it. But your friends?...time to get new ones.

Turn your back on the hard working party and you will cut off your own nose.

I may get sick tomorrow but I won't cut off the hand that feeds me.

Odd that "she" would go to the church for assistance. Liberals are of the mind that true charity is best administered by government and that manditory contributions are made by paying higher taxes.

If she is going to keep, er "start", voting DemocRat, (s)he needs to try getting by on government money. Besides churches only exist as a "tax dodge" for sexist-homophobe Christian conservatives. You know, the ones who oppose abortion and homosexuality in their churches. < /sarc >
