There aught be a law that absolutely precludes the pretense of lawyers to elected office. Let alone of the kind of failed lawyers who clutter the corridors of every level of America's halls of power.

For in all of Human experience none has yet proven himself able to form an original idea nor of creating, innovating, producing and or manufacturing so much as a ping pong ball.

And no matter how cunningly anally retentive one or another of them might appear to be, how slaveringly he might lust after unearned and undeserved power over others' lives and how unctuously he might cover his stupidity by shamelessly lying to those too damned stupid to know they're being lied to and/or too damned mean-spirited and/or greedy to care, he will forever be in conflict of interset with those whose lives he seeks to order.

And, worse, in possession of an office so far beyond his level of competence as to absolutely confound him at his every turn.

For witness look nor further than to the incidental "presidency" of said serial sexual predator, traitor and self-serving sophistic recidivist racketeer, the (Disbarred) lawyer: William Jefferson Blythe Clinton.

Everything about the clintons is an illusion--their functionality as well as their affect. They're all form and no substance. The clintons confirmed their profound dysfunction (as well as The Peter Principle) several decades and many elections ago.

With tongue partially in cheek, Edith Efron (Can the President Think?--written early in their failed, dysfunctional presidency--Nov 1994), actually hit upon a job for which he (but certainly not she) would be far better suited:

In a particular and important way, Bill Clinton is cognitively disabled.

There is nothing obvious about that disability, although its superficial manifestations strike many people immediately: If one concentrates on what Clinton says, not on his facial expressions and the motions of his poetic hands, one discovers that he is a phenomenal bore. That is the clue to Clinton's cognitive disability. There is only one thing that will produce this detail-saturated effect, enlivened by no thinking or creative impulse, and that is the memorization one frantically engages in before an exam if one is the bright kind who studies for As.

Is Clinton a memorizer? Yes, indeed he is. And a very unusual one, the type who could get a job in the circus as a Hans the Talking Horse.

Sen. Hillary Clinton should not count on help from Hollywood mogul David Geffen in her possible run for the White House.

Geffen, who was a generous supporter and pal of Bill Clinton when he was president, trashed Hillary's prospects last night during a Q&A at the 92nd St. Y in New York City.

"She can't win, and she's an incredibly polarizing figure," the billionaire Democrat told his audience. "And ambition is just not a good enough reason."

Lloyd Grove reports in fresh editions of the NY DAILY NEWS the audience broke with "hearty applause" over Geffen's comments.
