Disagree - In a republic we need parties and caucuses in order to move a coherent national agenda.

We didn't have either of theses when our Constitution was written and I find no mention of them in the Constitution, just We the People

disagree - lobbying and PACS are constitutional and necessary.

Please show me where you find mention of either of these in the Constitution.

Disagree - Money is not the problem, a lack of character is. Our country is not socialist.

Money is what gets these clowns elected in the first place. How is term limits going to change that?

I agree with you regarding character.

This isn't a theology debate, tenn. Freedom of speech and the right to peacably assemble are constitutional. Caucusing and lobbying are essential to a Republic. I am not going to waste my time trying to convince you of something so fundamental to ourgovernment. If you do not believe this by now, there is nothing I can say to change your mind.

The tiered tax code with special deductions and incentives is the other problem besides term limits. The Government needs to go to a flat income tax or a flat sales tax and eliminate all the special deductions. Recall, we did not have any federal taxes in the beginning.

Freedom to donate is freedom of speech. This is a capitalistic society, not socialistic.

McCain-Feingold seeks to silence speech and couches that infringement by using "money" as the problem. I am a life NRA member and we had to start an internet/radio program so that we could continue to lobby within the limits of McCain-Feingold. How does your parliamentary scheme combat this? When a group of politicians caucus together to eliminate the right to keep and bear arms, We the People need to caucus together to counter it and to promote constitutional candidates wherever they may be running in the country.

Please research the freedom of speech and of the press. Maybe read Levin's book, Men in Black. Maybe research Scalia's dissent on the CFR decision?

McCain's law silences this very conversation on this very site prior to an election. He thinks he can decide for us who the "press" is, and it isn't us.

Money is not directly proportional to votes. John Kerry is a testament to that. As is George Soros. Money allows a candidate to market himself. We need a whole lot more of that, IMHO, so we can have more competition, not less.

The NRA is not financed by millionaires and is the most powerful lobbying organization in history.
