My assumption of the use of a less expensive aircraft ie: Cessna 180 (granted, short range)was based on the fact, hopefully not, that a suitcase TacNuc was to be delivered.

I personally believe that a suitcase TacNuc will be used
for an attack on the US. I understand that a few of these devices are loose out there after the USSR Armed Forces folded up. I understand that the missing ones were stored
in the different "stans" surrounding Mother Russia.

We are living in interesting times!

A suitcase nuke is the worst case scenario, I think. An airburst doesn't need to be that high to inflict more damage than a ground burst. Detonation in a tall building would increase the area damaged, although there are only a few buildings tall enough for it (1000' plus).

The Cessna can fly at 12,000 easily. More if you bring oxygen, which is available. If memory serves correctly, you're supposed to pop an air burst around 10,000'.

Anyone with better info, please add . . .
