He's probably just adjusting them so in November he can say he was RIGHT.

Translation: we need to keep the numbers going lower and lower, so we're going to invent a new poll to show that the number of people that identify themselves as liberal Democrats is rising, therefore we need to include more of them on every one of our push-polls.

I agree with you that polls tend to weight more DemocRATic and so called "independents" (which are commies and socialist). However, the recent drop in Republican support has been a result of Bush not controlling the boarder. It just shows you republicans do not blindly support Bush, he has to earn it!

Actually, although I am a huge supporter of President Bush, I do believe his poll numbers are much lower than we'd like. It just shows that we have work to do, not that Rasmussen is a charlatan.

And welcome to FR, btw.

You guys are in denial. I am one of those who believe the only polls that matter are in November, but this President has made alot of misstakes. Is he at 37%, 33% or 40%? Who cares; the thing to take away from this is that all of the polls, and plenty of anadotal info, shows a break between this President and GOP conservatives.

NOT in denial. When you look at those competitive senator polls, only Santorum is in danger.

It is hard to believe Bush and GOP are having such low approval ratings but no democrap can win.

Only two explanations. Those polls have overestimated democraps or even GOP is not the current favourite, democraps still can not win.

Yes, we will win in November if I can do anything about it. And we will lose some too. It is still too early to tell either way, although we've been pretty good closers recently.

But it will have nothing to do with Rasmussen one way or the other. It will be how well real people make choices based on available options.

Your word is pointless. Give us a reason that you believe this.

One problem with Bush is that he is alienating his base in many ways. I realize no president can satisfy every one in his party, It seems that Bush has taken it to level seldom seen. The illegal issue is really irritating the base. I hear it from virtually every Republican I talk to.

Look at all those meaningful polls for November election. Only PA is in danger.

If Bush and GOP are really that bad, why can't democraps poll better in those swing states such as OH, MO, MT?

Even NJ, MN are leaning our way!

Obviously Bushie is not being Clintonian enough.

A little narcissism goes a long way.

The per cent of people who self identify as Republican, Dem or Independent changes. He's just keeping his weighting of party "self identification" by the pollees correct.

He's been the most correct in his weighting. That's why we like him.

I think something else is happening. The media hates Bush and as a result they are driving down his approval on everything and creating a sour mood in the country.

Now here is where it gets interesting: they are driving down everyone's numbers including the media-they are universally hated.

Now-they are betting that Bush and the Republicans will take the hit for the sour mood and they may be right.
However in a highly polarized country when both sides have to present their sides it will be close.

I believe the base will come home but probably not until October.

I think you're being way too optimistic. Bush's approval ratings continue to tank, gas prices continue to go up, and every week it seems like Congress does something stupid. What makes you think that the GOP will pull through in November? Remember, the media is going to be promoting Democratic talking points from here on out.

NJ is not leaning our way. I guarantee you it goes to Menendez, and that's coming from a state resident. I also think we're dead in Ohio too, especially because of the backlash against Taft's government. In PA, Santorum is a virtual lost cause. That's three losses right there, and 2 incumbent seats.

Well, the DemonCrapts only poll well here when their young move here long enough to claim residence, or file all those dead voter registrations. Well, except for Cleveland, which is a lovely place but the pit of progressivism in Ohio--even has Progressive Car Insurance HQ there. Sigh.

I have NEVER seen so many out of state license plates as here in OH during the '04 election.

And here I was on the other thread being upbraided for calling dear Mr. Rasmussen a "douche bag" even though I didn't. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1623799/posts
Is the whole country addicted to these frickin useless polls? Is FR also addicted to them? I sure as hell wish the Right would leave this idiotic navel gazing to the idiotic Left.
