On May 1, immigrants, both legal and illegal, will purportedly take to the streets to:
*Call for--which is just the politically correct way of saying demand--amnesty for the unknown millions within the United States, and
*Demand that the U.S. government pass no legislation that even hints at real law and order at the border, or consequences for those who would upset that law and order.
Protest organizers are threatening to shut-down the economy, and some of Americas largest and most populous cities to a grinding halt.

No NOT illegal "immigration" day
ILLEGAL ALIEN MILITANTS day to shutdown this country, to takeover just lie the nazi's did, after all they are socialist liberals.
I've sent numerous faxes, letters, and bricks to Washington. It is so hard to keep up the work when Legislators and the press give these illegals ALL their attention. Very discouraging! I want a fence around the border afterall there is a fence around the White House for the same reason.
Illegal immigrants are joining all the other leech socialist groups world wide. All these crud orgranizations are looking for handouts.
Soneone called this "Bite The Hand That Feeds You" Day!!!!
Ha! I missed that - funny.
I have a concern about putting more taxes in the hands of leaders that are responsible for this mess.
Try driving through an illegal neighborhood yelling "LA MIGRA", i.e. "IMMIGRATION".
It's like stomping on an ant mound. LOL!
"Protest organizers are threatening to shut-down the economy,"
They can't. What they have done is turned our Congresscritters into a bunch of hysterical ninnies who can't offend businesses and other assorted special interests, the Mexican government, and felonious border jumpers, but sure as heck can offend and tick off American citizens, legal immigrants and voters.
How about withholding one day of taxes and see what impact that makes?
How about voting all the idiots out in November?
How about not sending one more dime to incumbants?
How about not shopping for a couple of weeks and letting them know what real spending power is?
I like that one too. ;)
The exact same situation is in Mexico -- the people are stirred to support this or that, but never end up doing much better because the government, filthy rich business owners/land owners, catholic leaders and political activists all benefit and the masses are helped very little or not all all. They must stop and think -- if all of the political rhetoric has never fundamentally changed Mexico for the better (where catholicism is MUCH stronger, BTW) then it is not going to happen here.
THat's what I'm thinking. They probably love the idea of Americans countering with a spend day.
We need and can support some immigration and/or guest
workers
GOOD THINGS
Patriotic new citizens who appreciate being able to
come to the greatest country on earth.
Hard workers who may only be interested in employment,
not citizenship, who can help keep supporting our
booming economy.
DANGEROUS THINGS
Terrorists sneaking across the border - even worse
bringing weapons with them.
(Remember how much death/destruction/expense/chaos
just a handful of anthrax powder caused.)
Drugs and weapons brought across the practically open
border.
Cracking down on workers and employers might send a
message that we are going to get serious about illegal
immigration, but who will it be affecting???
The people on the 'good' side!!
If we are going to get serious about the war on
terrorism and the war on drugs, we need a fence that
would BLOCK the border, that would cut down
drastically on the bad guys, and give us a way to
monitor and control the good guys.
Good Idea!
I vote for SHOPPING SHOPPING SHOPPING on Monday - as a patriotic duty :)
Seriously, if we make it a point to do our regular shopping on that day, it would send a message...
