Does it matter whether an illegal laborer, gang banger or wannabe Marxist from the university defaced the statue?

The reality is that the game is afoot and it appears that the .gov isn't going to do anything to head it off.

Maybe TPTB want the citizens to do the job. It almost appears that this is the case.
