I think that which ever party jumps on the close the border right now bandwagon is going to come out ahead.
The biggest problem I have is that Republicans have had control of the whole nine yards for years and they don't know what to do with it. They keep compromising on issues dear to the people.
Gun Control: Why are law-abiding citizens still having to do background checks to purchase legal property?
Homeland Security: They have to convince me theye are serious by securing our borders. They must stop trying to defy common sense.

I'm not sure if that's true. But for the sake of discussion, let's assume it is.
The issues of Iraq, abortion, and homosexual marrage alone are going to have such an enormous impact on our childrens world that we can't even imagine what it will be like if things go wrong. I'm pleased to say, and I think you'll agree, that generally the R party is on the right side of these issues.
Immigration, now that's one where Bush is clearly on the wrong side, and only a handful of R's are standing up to him, the D's, and the rest of the R's.
I do like you response in regard to sending money to the Minute Men rather than to the R Party. I wished I would have thought of that when they called me two weeks ago.
I'll probably always vote Republican, but unless they get the Invasion Issue right, it's going to be without enthusiasum.
