Addiction is a terrible thing. I have always felt that anyone, in the right circumstances, can fall to addiction. I'm afraid Rush succumbed. I hope he gets the help he needs.
I personally have found Rush difficult to listen to for several years now. Too much of a GOP shill. An approach that dismisses everything lib/dem and endorses everything con/gop is too limited and narrow.
I work at home and spend the day listening, on-and-off, to Ingraham, Prager, Medved or Dr Laura, and Savage. In the eves my PC records Hugh Hewitt and Mark Levin, and I catch parts of those when I can, too. I like that lineup. I find the narrowness or Rush & Sean (the big kids on the block) dull and uninteresting.
That being said, a few times a year I tune into Rush and enjoy it. I just can't listen to his same point of view day in, day out. His act got stale and he lacks clarity. Savage is joking that only a guy hopped up on drugs could possibly say the stuff Rush has been saying for a while. Though a joke, there's wisdom in that wisecrack.
