Tyson Foods Inc., the world's largest meat producer, says it will temporarily shut down nine of its beef and pork plants Monday because many of the workers plan to attend immigration rallies.

I have to wonder will Tyson pay the employees who don't support illegal immigration for the day, since they are essentually locked out.
Meanwhile,
"........we are not encouraging workers to participate in the rallies," Tyson spokesman Gary Mickelson said.
But they are certainly making it easier.
I've contacted Tyson that I plan on no further support for their products and will do so with any other company that closes it's doors on May 1st.

As opposed to telling them all that they expect them to work and that they'll be fired if they don't show up for a scheduled shift?

Gee, I wonder where a good spot for an immigration raid would be?

I hope you are prepared to not eat meat. The meat packing industry is one of the biggest employers of immigrant labor.

We could start with the crawford ranch in Texas; I hear the owner is a big advocate of civil disobedience and illegal immigration.

I'd schedule the ICE raid for the day BEFORE the protest and see how many people want to go THEN.

Try getting cheap medicine out of Canada and see how much help the pharmaceutical companies are willing to give. Cheap commodities are for corporations, not for us.

Just wait until all their illegal employees become citizens, join unions and demand more wages/benefits/etc. Or, are they expecting things to remain the same after this is all said and done?

Is there a website someplace that lists companies (and their products) that hire illegals? Since neither a Republican President, nor any DemonRat administration will do anything effective about illegal immigration, it is time for a consumer boycott.

How can I determine if Cargill supplies the meats in the supermarkets where I shop?

This list just came my way from FAIR:

Call Seaboard at 1-800-262-7907, Cargill at 1-800-CARGILL (227-4455), Hormel at (507) 437-5611 and Tyson at (479) 290-4000 on Monday to let them you are boycotting them for supporting illegal immigration.

The info. concludes with a plea for us not to eat poultry or meat of any kind on Monday--or buy it, for that matter.

Here's an older article that paints a good picture of where Tyson stands on the illegals issue:

Tyson Execs changed in smuggling illegal aliens

Snip: Thursday, Dec. 20, 2001 WASHINGTON – A federal grand jury in Chattanooga, Tenn., has returned a 36-count indictment against executives and managers of Tyson Foods Inc. for conspiracy to smuggle illegal aliens to its U.S. facilities for profit, the Justice Department said Wednesday. The company disputed the government's allegations.

Tyson, the world's largest producer and processor of poultry in the United States, enjoyed close ties to the Clinton administration.

Lots of other sources of which to purchase our poultry and meat products. Seaboard, Cargill, Hormel and Tyson clearly don't support upholding American immigration law. Removing their products from our grocery lists shouldn't be that difficult. It's a matter of patriotism and national sovereignty over corporate greed.
