Just got home, went to a 10:30 PM showing in Massachusetts. The theatre was about 1/3 full.
It was a terrible, awful thing to watch. I can clearly understand some people not wanting to see it.
Nearly the entire movie, once the hijackings started, was nearly as intense as the first 30 minutes of Saving Private Ryan. For me, that says a lot.
My brother didn't say a word for nearly a half hour after the movie. I was the only one who uttered even a word leaving the movie theater, and my inital comments as the lights came up were: "Those F******* sons of a b
".
My second comment was "They should be showing THAT in High School classes instead of "Fahrenheit 9/11."
For anyone who thinks that what is going on over in Afghanistan and Iraq is somehow unrelated to 9/11...they need to watch this movie.
The first thing my brother said when he did speak (and my brother, bless his heart, is a liberal) was "It sure makes it a lot easier to hate muslims."
I corrected him, and I said it doesn't make me hate muslims, it makes me hate 'Islamofacist F***head muslims'. I may be the minority, but I do believe there IS a difference.
It was interesting. This young jerkoff walks into the theater with his girlfriend after the movie started, and as he walked in across the front, he was making farting sounds and generally just being a jerk. When the move was over and he walked out, there wasn't a peep out of him.
