Voting in a foreign election could be one method used to determine an alien's allegiance, and therefore who could be elegible to win a free one-way plane ride.

If a wall is not built, a national fingerprint and photo data base formed and maintained and laws obeyed, look IMO for lots of violence in the future.

All economies are cyclical, and when ours starts downward again, people are going to go even more ape with illegals.

Is the government for the people and by the people?

Or is it just screw the people?

I agree. Without first priority being a secure border barrier - one that cannot be easily crossed without significant effort - any other action is a waste. We already have laws making illegal aliens felons when they have or attempt to use a stolen or fraudulent ID, USC 1028, Title 18. In fact, Gonzales was a key promoter of the revised version. We already have deportation authority through current immigration code as amended in 1996. Tax code and RICO laws cover most other activities in which those in the illegal alien business engage.

About 70% of illegal drugs enter the US from our Mexican border. That's about $48 billion in illegal drugs per year entering through Mexico. With a border barrier proving only 50% effective, that's a potential cut of $24 billion/year, but you won't see that arise as a selling point of a barrier. I've concluded that the reason so is if one compares the number of drug related cases tried in a month in the average courtroom, omitting just 50% of those would jeapordize the lucrative careers judges, lawyers, and law enforcement have built on those cases. An average monthly dockett could then be cleared within a week, barring traffic offenses.

The underlying problem seems to be the lack of backbone. There are a lot of cowards in Washington and elsewhere and nothing is being done to build a security barrier.

The bottom line reasoning by both Republicans and Democrats are these two points.

#1 Some believe we can make citizens out of these illegals to help create tax payers as older people start collecting SS. (Problem is they cost far more than they could ever offer back).

#2 A good wall would keep more at home perhaps causing enough pressure to find Mexico in another revolution, only the USA worries China, Russia, or Latin communists could get a foot hold or major influence after that.

I believe we need the wall. I think after that we document illegals with photos and fingerprints. Then let them get temp. permits and leave.
If they don't leave, remove them and deny them entrance and additional 5 years.
Make employers check a national data base for verification of all people to be employed.
If an employer allows an illegal to work on the side and is caught, consider a huge fine, a day in jail to start with.
