You said -- "That makes no sense. Al Qeada has been attacking us for close to 15 years. Do you believe that they haven't used nukes on us because they haven't finished planning, they are still coordinating, or because they haven't gotten them (the nukes) in the country yet? If they haven't gotten that done yet, either they can not, and I have a significant problem believing that prior to 9/11/2001, or they don't have them."

It makes sense if you realize that they're not about "shooting from the hip" the first chance they get. I read somewhere that al-Qaida has been working on the nukes (the whole plan and all that it entails) since 1995. And also, I read somewhere that they were going to use these nukes for a very large and coordinated attack on the U.S. -- in conjunction with something going on in the Middle East at the same time.

So, that would mean that they would employ other methods of terror attacks (just like they have done) -- while still working on all the facets (of what it's going to take) for this *very large and devastating attack* on the U.S. -- in conjunction for whatever they have in mind for the Middle East (which probably involves Israel and eliminating it).

It makes a lot of sense to me -- unless you just think that they are a "shoot-from-the-hip" group, consisting of people who are totally undisciplined.

If Al Qaeda brings nukes into this country, it will be the end of Bush and the Republican party.

They lose all credibility on national defense in a single act.

People just don't get it. You are right on with your comments. people think the terrorists are a bunch of yahoos who would get all excited about getting a nuke and immediatly blow it off. That would only hurt us on a relative low scale. Why would they not wait to make a huge impact?

these are patient and VERY religious people. They are not "shoot from the hip".

People don't get the idea as to why they need Sharia "blessing/go ahead" God folks, look it up yourself-not all Muslims are killers (as much as we like to think), all Osama has is his fierce devotion to Allah, Jihad, and the Koran...He NEEDS to get Mullahs to OK an attack-not all of them just a few to justify. And he almost got in bad trouble over 9/11 due to this lack of religious OK. Some religious leaders were against it. Geez-all it takes is a little research!!!!

People still think we are dealing with dumb street thugs...better wake up!!!

No, I don't think they are shoot-from-the-hip, nor undisciplined. I think of the 1993 WTC bombing. They wanted to knock one tower into the other and they failed. On 9/11/01 they wanted to cause 50,000 or more deaths, they failed. Also, project Bojinka was stopped before any harm came.

I think they do do planning, coordinating and work on getting the nukes, or other weapons, into this country, but they have come up way short of their goals in the past. I have to wonder if the "management" is fairly disciplined, but I do not think the lower level personnel are. This would explain the extravagent plans that fail, or are minimized or are found out and prevented. I really don't think they have nukes. I do think they plan and coordinate etc, but I also think if they had them, they, at the least, would have ensured they were in this country before 9/11/01 since they did not know what our response was going to be, so they did not know if there would be a path to get them in, much less know what path would work. Way too risky after 9/11/01.

Well, if you read it somewhere, I guess that settles it then. :)

On of the prerequisites in the Quron for war, Jihad and acceptance of collateral damage is "an unprovoked attack on Islam".

That's precisely what they are. Their C&C structure has more holes than a Swiss cheese that got into Dick Cheney's line of fire.
