Frankly, showing that their allah is a phoney by destroying mecca may just have a good psychological affect and they'll drop the whole islam madness.
If they don't, then we'll just have to clean up more of them. After Hitler, naziism more or less died. After mecca, I suspect islam will have the same vitality as neo-naziism today, ie not much.

You have to understand their mentality. They *believe* in their symbols and how important they are to their "religion". If you destroy the symbols and show, by force, how weak and impotent their so-called god is -- they no longer will trust in that religion as "truth" and they will abandon it as ineffective and false.
They are the ones who "put stock" in these symbols. That's why they were intent on destroying *our symbols*. You see..., that's *their thinking* -- and not necessarily ours. So, they thought by destroying our "symbols" they would destroy us -- precisely because they know that is what would destroy them.
