Giannoulias is elusive ... (Calls Republican Excellent Candidate)

Illinois voters are blessed with an excellent candidate for state treasurer.
No, not Alexi Giannoulias, the Democrat on the ballot. He has some serious issues to explain. They first surfaced March 15 in a Tribune scoop with a striking headline: "Loans to crime figure haunt state treasurer hopeful."
Six weeks later, Giannoulias has only made matters worse. The more he tries to wriggle out of fully discussing the millions of dollars in loans his family's Broadway Bank of Chicago gave to a convicted felon, the more questions he raises. Giannoulias, 30, is the senior loan officer and vice president of the bank.

Anyone familiar with the Republican the Trib likes?

I didn't even THINK there was a Republican candidate. I mean, the way Obama was praising this guy, you think he was the Second Coming. And nobody would run against him. But as typical for an Illinois politician, he has "issues."

I just read that George Clooney wants Obama (insert Ted Kennedy's multiple mispronunciation audio cut here) for President.

I live in Dayton Ohio. Home of the left wing Rag Dayton Daily News, recently exposed on Bill O'Riley.
The Republican running against Giannoulias, can't buy a fair shake! Giannoulias is a tax loving RINO!!
running as a Conservative.
I am embarrassed to admit I can not remember the name of the REAL conservative (R) running against Giannoulous.
Not to worry, I will have his name before May 2.
My long winded point is this....Giannoulias, has Radio spots running every hour on the hour, prime time. Conversely, his opponents radio adds are played at bizarre late hours. (part of the reason I can't think of his name)
Call me paranoid, but I absolutely believe the staff at the radio station made a conscious decision to give the RINO Giannoulias the spot light while all but ignoring his opponent.

I hadn't heard of her until she became a candidate for Treasurer. A quick google search on her looks positive.
If this Giannoulias survives and stays on the ticket and wins, I'd say we're looking at a future governor. Considering several of our recent governors, he seems to have the right credentials.

There maybe a RINO revival in Illinois Politics is emerging. The IL GOP has a good chance of gaining the Governorship and retaining State Treasurer by running RINO women.
The irony here is that Christine Radogno, the GOP candidate for Treasurer, currently holds Judy Topinka's state senate. Thus Radogno is following in Topinka's foot steps.

I think you're off by a district or two. Christine Rodogno won her first election by very narrowly defeating Senator Robert Raica in the GOP primary.
To: Clintonfatigued
During the 1980's, I grew in Topinka's district. That district covered the western suburbs of Cook and Du Page. Since redistricting Topinka's 1980's district has been carved up between Kirk Dillard, Jim Durkin, and Rodogno.

Obama will either A. Run for President in 2012, or B. Be VP in 2008.
I'd put money on one of these two things happening.

Christine Rodano is a excellent GOP State Senator from Lemont, in Dupage County. She will win in November. Barak Obama will realize his idiocy and not endorse the MOB banker.

BillyBoy, I'm suprised you're not yet in this thread with comments on the candidate for St Treas. As I recall it, you're previous analysis showed her to have little ideology except to have a strong position in support of . . . . . herself.
The MSM columns on her describe he as an enigma as she will often vote one way in committee, or on an amendment, and then the opposite way on the floor. Then she sends out targeted mail to both sides touting the vote that they like.
