if you thought the friction between MacArthur and Nimitz was bad, just imagine how much worse it would have been if you added Patton to the mix.

Not much room in the Pacific for Patton's specialty: tank warfare. What I wonder: if Patton had lived would he have been sent to Korea to replace Mac after Truman fired him. The mind boggles.
