Catholic Priest Who Was Victim of Sex Abuse Draws Fire After Speaking Out

he Rev. James Moran was asking his usual questions during his chaplain rounds one day last summer at Washington Hospital Center: How are you? Would you like to pray together? Maybe take Communion? But one of the patients on his "Catholic" list bristled at the sight of a clerical collar.

The Catholic Church hierarchy's treatment of clergy sex abuse victims was disgusting, the patient told him Believe me, I'm not trying to force Jesus down your throat," answered Moran, a beefy 60-year-old with an agonizing secret he had only recently started to let out: "I'm a victim of a priest myself."

The patient stared at him from the bed. A question came, point-blank: "Then how can you be a priest?"

The reason I post this article is to highlight the fact that these Cardinal (especially Mahony) and the other Bishops utilize their position to espouse Moral and political Statements on Illegal Aliens and other issues as theological guidelines in order to influence the policies of a Nation and effect the course of the laws of the land.

Cardinal Mahony and Bishops should first take the log out of their own eyes before they try to preach to us about the civil laws of our Country.

Where will our democracy go if we accept the Cardinal's proclamation?

Will the USA become another country like Mexico?

Cool. Every thread is an illegal immigration thread.

Free Republic is all immigration all the time.

It doesn't matter whether the story is about religion, cars, trade, sports, girls, or anything else.

It can be hijacked into an immigration thread. Piece of cake.

got that right. And this transition wasn't even close to the subject? I read the last line and said: "Huh?"

And before I get flamed by immigration folks - yes, it IS a BIG problem - and I have lived in CaliFORNia =, I know what it is.

But there ARE other issues and they deserve to be discussed.

You can ignore the immigration threads if you like. As soon as you see it turning you can click that X in the corner and move one. It is really pretty simple. I used it during the Schiavvo era.

You apparently miss the point. I'll click on the immigration threads when I choose. I'm tired of clicking on religion or news threads unrelated to immigration to see it being hijacked.
