I was not suggesting that there was any surface magma event. If there was such a phenomenon it would have been hundreds or perhaps thousands of feet beneath the surface of the earth. The bulge at the Japanese volcano I mentioned raised the earth several hundred feet, and you could still see the trees and the roads in the pictures that accompanied the article.
