The national debate over gay rights became a divisive force on Sacramento-area school campuses this week, as religious Christian students wore T-shirts expressing their disapproval of homosexuality as others participated in a Day of Silence to honor gay and lesbian peers.

Tobias Barrington Wolff, a law professor at UC Davis, said that stipulation is problematic.

"I'm troubled by the notion that a student could perhaps come into school wearing a T-shirt that says Christian fundamentalism is shameful, and that might be OK, whereas a student wearing a 'Homosexuality is shameful' shirt is subject to discipline or suspension," he said.

Me too.

Homosexuality really messed up things in my family. If they repeated that it was NATURAL 120,000 times, it still wouldn't make it natural. Weddings, like which is the Father that is going to give away the daughter?

Bingo.

It might be different if the protesters' shirts bore cuss words, but simply saying "Adam & Eve, not Adam & Steve" is, I feel, no less protected than saying the converse on your shirt.

Gay and lesbian students "have the right to 'be secure and be let alone,'" wrote Judge Stephen Reinhardt, referencing a seminal 1969 case, Tinker v. Des Moines.

The Judge is seen here discussing his ruling with a member of the School Commission during a recent "Native American Diversity Awareness" festival. The Judge whose Indian name is "One Who Swallows Eels" is wearing a ceremonial costume of the Pochahinie Tribe. (:^*)

Your post gives me an excuse to repeat an unforgettable statement by The Great Jay Diamond, legendary NYC talk show host of the '90's. With regard to homosexuals and their indefatigable interest in young people, he said "these are people who are driven to rage by the innocence of children."

Front page of our local newspaper has a picture of a high school girl with a white mask that says "STOP HATE" on it.

The message; "If you disagree with me, you are a hateful bigot".

These guys are good at PR.

There was a "Day of Truth" today... it got ZERO coverage.
