There may be a biological reason why a large portion of men are normal & functional!
Regardless the fact that homophobia is not a disorder -- it is my understanding that by definition in general a phobia disorder has at least two criteria that must be met; one must suffer from an irrational fear AND the suffering must cause them dysfunction in some aspect of their life.
Declaring another homophobic without evidence of fear or dysfunction seems an awful lot like voodoo psychology -- it is probably transference in the case of the self conscious and guilt ridden or a misdirected attempt at benevolence in the case of the unconscious and ignorant.
Think about it, if men did not have sex with women there would be no population...
I will step out on a limb here and suggest that heterosexual procreative sex is quite normal and societally functional; conversely, avoiding heterosexual procreative sex is quite abnormal and societally dysfunctional -hence, a disorder...
I honestly do not think there are that many if any that fear the disordered to the point that they are disordered as well e.g. homophobic... Just my opinion...

The original meaning of the coined word "homophobic" was indeed the fear that the identity challenged had of their own behavior or desire for same.
The word means "fear of same." It does not mean fear of homosexuals. The gay "rights" people have cleverly turned the meaning around to put the onus (not Onan) of guilt/loathing on everyone else.
