Barely. I would have liked to see felony convictions, so they couldn't vote for 10+ years. Seems like fair play, disenfranchise the disenfranchisers.

I can't find the soundbyte, but the mayor's wife said something along the lines of, the judge doesn't wear a robe, but a hood. Can you imagine the outrage if the party was reversed and these were republicans?

The hyphenated-American formely known as Cassius Clay was instrumental in publicizing that movement. That, along with his draft dodging and the revolution he caused in athletes' behavior to where the disgusting "look at me" attitude became widely acceptable, I suppose is why he is today considered a heroic figure.
