Be careful that neither of your SSNs are compromised that way.

I seem to recall that some counties were (maybe they all did?) introducing logs for people wishing to view that sort of court file, requiring photo ID and signature?

I'm thinking it was a Florida county but can't be sure.

THe first time I separated from the USAF (long story) they told me to file my DD 214 at the courthouse. When I retired they no longer recommended this. Apparently the low life pond scum out there have accessed records at courthouses to steal identity. Glad to hear you can get it online now in case mine disappears.
