Now that's a good question. The players are 18-21 year olds that have been attacked by a politically motivated, out of control DA. They have had death threats. The coach received threats.

And this from the Raleigh N&O on March 28th:

"'The DNA will talk'

In the grassy quad outside his office, students took turns stepping before a microphone. Some shook with anger and teared up as they spoke.

"If you see them in class, ask them who did this," said Serena Sebring, a graduate student.

Some students sported T-shirts that said, "Men's Lax, Come Clean." A poster said, "The DNA will TALK, even if the COWARDS of men's lacrosse won't."

Students urged Duke officials to do more to pressure players into cooperating with police."

You make an excellent point, Peggybac, who is going to protect the Lacrosse players? Who is going to see that they get a fair trial (reads venue change)?

Missed your posts! It's always a bonus to have the perspective of another person who is down there.

Hopefully the defense team will have audio-videographers at Shabazz's rally taping every bit of incendiary rhetoric spewed. If the judge has any doubts about granting a change of venue, just roll the footage.

Shabazz is also the leader of the Black Lawyers For Justice (reparations hustlers), so it looks like they win the lawsuit plum for Mangum against Duke.
