"Politicians and the media seem to believe that Hispanic-Americans hold a monolithic view on the subject of immigration," said Pete Nunez, a former Assistant Secretary of the Treasury and a spokesman for the group. "In fact, millions of Hispanic-Americans -- including many who have gone through the immigration process the right way -- are offended by the demands being made by people who have broken our nation's laws. We are even more offended that the views of Hispanic citizens are not being accurately portrayed."

Gee I've only been saying this for year...

just about all American come from some other Nation of Origin (if your people have been American for ten generations they still came from some where else)...and many American have this happen where the supposed to answer the call of the "old country and blood" to show there loyalty to "there (old) race/people" over American .....

There a damm lot a great American of Mexican / Hispanic Origins want to tell these people to go to hell...

One day I was in a New York shop and the owner, a first generation Pakistani immigrant, asked me where I was from. I told him I was American. He replied by asking where I was really from. I told him America and asked him why he didn't know what we looked like. He then stated that the only real Americans are the "Indians and they are all locked up in cages." Through my anger and frustration I was able to tell him he was looking at an American and I was not in a cage. ISN'T THERE A REQUIREMENT THAT IMMIGRANTS KNOW SOMETHING ABOUT OUR COUNTRY BEFORE BEING CITIZENS? It is a dangerous thing to fill our country with ignorant people!
