I guess the author missed this article (among others):
Immigrants account for 95 percent of Santa Clara County's TB cases and 85 percent of Alameda County cases, according to Dr. Robert Benjamin, medical director of the Alameda County TB Control Program. Many arrive here from the developing world, where the TB epidemic is centered. Benjamin points out that most immigrants are not screened for TB before arriving in the United States.
That needed repeating....
It's drug-resistant TB, too. Back in the good old days when we had control of immigration, we screened immigrants for TB and turned them back if they tested positive. Now we have to worry about TB, bubonic plague, dysentery, etc. And how much we will have to pay in taxes to treat millions of illegals with virulent, Third World diseases? The USA is seeing a decline in its quality of life as our cities and suburbs become more crowded with people whose educational level is equivalent to high school dropouts. We're seeing an increase in drug trafficking across the southern border. And nothing is being done about it.
I'm wondering if that outbreak of mumps in Iowa has its origins in an infected illegal.
