Election day tire slashers finally sentenced. They didn't get as much as they could have but the judge did ignore the D.A.'s sentence recommendation. Justice sorta????

More than I thought they'd get.
A fifth Kerry-Edwards staffer accused of crippling Republican vans, Justin Howell, turned down the last-minute deal and was acquitted by the jury.

Michael Pratt was sentenced to six months in jail, and Sowande Omokunde, Moore's son, got four months in jail. Lavelle Mohammad was sentenced to five months in jail, and Lewis Caldwell received a six-month jail sentence.

Each was fined $1,000. The defendants all had previously paid a collective restitution of $5,320, as part of the plea bargain.

They should have all gotten at least a year so they would be out of the political game forever for a felony conviction.

In addition to their several-month jail sentences and monetary restitution, the judge should have sentenced them, upon their release, to wash and wax all cars belonging to the GOP, including dressing the tires.

6 months of huber with work release privileges would not have been my recommendation, but since they plead down to misdemeanors, that is about all we could expect. At least Brennan did give them some time behind bars

They got 4-6 months in the slammer, when they should have gotten 2-4 years in prison for this. Wisconsin justice really sucks big time.

Hmmm....there was nothing on Ticketmaster about the OJ Jury doing a national tour.

If GOP kids had slashed tired of all those vans the Dems use there would be rallies by now, and screams from Jesse and the usual crowd about vote suppression, a return to slavery, etc etc.

So what were they charged with? Vandalism?

To me there is no justice unless they are convicted on what they really did - prevent people from exercising their voting rights.

Moore's son, got four months in jail

Just another example of the racist system sentencing our African youth to jail. It was societies fault that this African had no respect for the property of others.

To bad the judge really did not give a damn about the role of the courts in protecting peoples property rights. Being a thief is about as low as one can go.

They should lose their right to vote permanently, and also be permanently barred from employment with any campaign receiving federal funds.

Seems to me they could still be charged with a federal offense?
Wouldn't that keep their fat young snouts out of the public trough forever?

If it had been in reverse, CNN & Time Magazine would have headlined it as a Republican Hate Crime. HBO would have produced a mini series with Richard Dryfuss as the instigator, Warner Music would heavily promoted an anti Bush rap tune and Warner Bros. Studio would have released a much beloved classic revised as a metaphor for the crime.
