Michelle Malkin makes an excellent case for applying the " broken windows" theory of policing to dealing with illegal aliens. How does it escalate into rape and murder? Well by overlooking the absence of a small thing like a piece of paper. When we allow people to break that law, its like a broken window in a poorly policed neighborhood. Its a sign of social decay and the absence of law in what ought to be a safe neighborhood. And to compound injury to insult, the President tells us the sheer size of the problem now makes its impossible to actively enforce our immigration laws. No one argues we should stop enforcing a law requiring the fixing of a broken window just because they get broken in. It follows that just because illegal aliens brazenly jump the fence and vanish in the midst of our country is no reason to stop enforcing our immigration laws. The point is, small things have big consequences. Hoodwinking at illegal aliens has led to Americans being raped and murdered. Whatever the politicians may have one believe, this is one American who thinks its neither OK or compassionate. Its time to do the right thing and start upholding the rule of law in our country - for the same reasons a good neighborhood has unbroken and tidy windows.

Resendiz is the prize pig that Vicente Fox doesn't want Texas to kill. It's odd that a crazy person could outsmart all those US government employees all those years. But I seem to recall he was carrying a Democrat voter registration card when he was captured, so perhaps he is crazy.
