Here's just one incident we'll never forget in Nebraska:

The US bank in Norfolk has since been razed. In its place is a memorial to the five people who were murdered. It's eerily similar to the spot in New York where the World Trade Center used to stand. For the people of Norfolk, Nebraska, this was their 9/11.
Which begs the question: How many of these "9/11s" do we have to endure in this country before something is done?
