Thank you Jimmy, good men died because of you incompetence.I can always feel a bit of pride because my first presidential vote was for Gerry Ford (whom I really didn't like that much).
Even back then I figured Carter to be a weak character and a person unfit to be President despite my lack of enthusiasm for former Pres. Ford.
p.s. I was not old enough to vote for Ronald Reagan in the 1976 primaries.

"Iranian officials used the occasion to tell US leaders that they risked yet more "divine intervention" if they dared to again set foot on Iranian soil."
What did the Good Witch Glinda from "The Wizard of OZ" say, "Oh, rubbish! You have no power here. Be gone, before somebody drops a house on you, too."

I've got my hopes pinned on the Iranians who didn't show up, and who'd really like to westernize.

And we will mark the day that the USN sank the Iranian Navy.

Thousands of religious hardliners chanting "Death to America" gathered in Iran's central desert to celebrate a failed US hostage rescue mission 26 years ago, AFP reported. Unless action is taken before next year, this looks like a good place to test another MOAB on April 26, 2007.

Its failure also contributed to the subesequent election defeat of then US president Jimmy Carter At least some good came out of it.

Is that my cue? If so, meet Sarah Shahi, great-granddaughter of a 19th Century Iranian Shah, Hath Ali Shah Qajar.

Jimmy Carter, the weakest link.
His blunderings empowered and gave rise to Islamofacism.

Carter should rot in hell for his negligence and gross incompetence. He will grace the halls of eternity along with his ilk, Clinton, Kennedy and the disgusting like.

Seem like a parallel demonstration in the U.S. with nostalgic chanting of "Dump Carter" might be in order.
Thank goodness we need not fear the bunny or anything even more sinister anymore.

Before the war with the filthy moose is over, Carter will have more blood on his hands than Mao, Stalin or Hitler.

True -- my oversight. The Dems just have the magic midas touch when it comes to destroying everything they touch.

Oh please. Like Carter was piloting the helicopters himself. I poked around to see who could reasonably be blamed for the failure of the mission.
There are a couple of good articles on Operation Eagle Claw here and here.

Carter was notorious (if not infamous) for abusing his power as CiC. He micro-managed military affairs down to the point of determining how many people would go in and what they would do when they got there.
He was worse than Clinton ("No Apaches because they make too much noise" - before the Black Hawk Down raid in Somalia).
He's scum.
