Alan of all people announces that Tony will be the next Press Sec, announcment from the White House will happen tomorrow morning!
I am just concerned that the MSM press will detest him for his association with FNC so will do everything it can to make him look bad and make his job as difficult as possible.
Thanks for the ping!

Don't worry about the nay-sayers. I'll just throw some CHOCOLATE on 'em. ;-)
This is a ch__ch. What's missing?
Also, you may describe yourself as fairly hostile to all parties involved, right?

Been off the computer tonight, and just checking in. Thanks for the ping, Bahbah! We'll miss "our" Tony, but I think he'll be great for the administration! Hopefully he'll kick butt and take names at the Press Briefings! (I nominate David Gregory for first butt kicking!!)
Here for the group hug!! ;>)
"" On the policy side, he has become a classical dime-store Democrat. He gladly will shovel money into programs that enjoy undeserved prestige, such as Head Start. He seems to consider it mean-spirited to shut down programs that rip-off taxpayers and mislead supposed beneficiaries. [8/25/00]""
I like this last quote. I dont know why conservatives like bruce bartlett act like they been betrayed. all the signs were there to see in plain sight before GW Bush was prez.
It seems out of character to appoint a non-syncopant such as Tony if the claims of GWB detractors were to be believed...
I'm thrilled with the news and am anxiously awaiting the first press conference. I know many are worried about how the press will treat him since he was with Fox and at times critical of the president's policies, but I have every confidence Tony can handle these bozos just fine, and have them wrapped around his finger at the same time. He's been through a lot more in his life than having to answer a stupid question from Helen Thomas. He'll do fine.
Thanks for doing this, Tony. Now, go get 'em!
Right back atcha, babe!
The drive by media will detest ANYBODY who stands up and speaks for this president. Anybody.
I think his work on FNC is an asset is many ways. Certainly the obvious ones like knowing how to play to a camera, field questions etc. But more importantly, because of FNC America already has seen Tony Snow and has an opinion of him and unless they are an unhinged BDS moonbat, it's probably a favorable one.
It's going to be hard to change what a lot of America already believes about Tony.
ping to typical example of immigration issue/Bush bashing hijack attempts on an unrelated thread
Just fyi. Good morning.
ping Kristan. He would know what is up with the correspondence dinner.
Speaking of screen names, did you know your FReeper ID was "666"?!
Fox & Friends has just said the installation ceremony will be carried Live on Fox at about 9:15 a.m. EDT.

Now 9:10 a.m. EDT. Live on Fox News. Just in time for the start of the SHOW!
I heard them also say Tony wanted to make sure he was part of the policy decision making process before accepting the position. I LOVE it!
