Kelsey Grammer to Run for Office?
LAST UPDATE: 4/25/2006 12:45:06 PM
Actor Kelsey Grammer has decided to follow in the footsteps of Arnold Schwarzenegger and run for public office.
The star and long-term Republican insists his willingness to discuss his troubled past - which includes alcohol and cocaine addictions - will disarm his opponents.
He says, "It's a notion I have about the future - to run for office, to do the world some good.
"Well the idea that we can do the world some good is a little nuts, the world tends to take care of itself.
"My frankness and openness about my past could probably benefit me though."

We have no evidence that the man is going to sell uss down the road on every issue we care about. You are protesting not having evidence of that? Well...O.K.

Whose family values truthfully DO NOT leave anything to be desired?Let's just say I wasn't talking about anything as small as, say, failing to send flowers to his mom on Mother's Day.
Sheesh.

I've watched Kelsey since he was on Cheers, he's really a funny actor. Glad to hear he's still solidly Republican after all that time in Tinsletown

So he likes to see the cow before he buys the milk! Being oversexed seems to be a political attribute. Knocking one of those Libs out of office would be a plus.

I had the same impression of McCain at about the same time. We were in Hilton Head at the time of the primary and happened to be in the McCain hotel.
The lobby was crawling with aides and I was invited to a press conference early in the morning and I saw a man I wasn't prepared for. I got the same, instant feeling that I did the first time I saw Hillary.
I won't go so far as to call it evil but there was a strange, unsettling feeling. No vote for you.

You are protesting not having evidence of that? Well...O.K. My point was that there is no reason to tarnish the man by comparing him to Arnold. Yes, of course Arnold sold us out on everything Republicans stand for, but as I said, there is no proof Grammer is going to. So that makes it unfair to compare the two (for now).

You are protesting not having evidence of that? Well...O.K.Actually, Dan was saying it was unfair to compare Grammer to Schwarzenegger, since Schwarzenegger "[sold us] down the road on every issue we care about."
In other words, it's a jab at Schwarzenegger.

"Hello, Birch. Long-time listener, first-time caller. Kudos for bringing the public back to the Republican party. It's high time people realized we conservatives aren't all Johnny Hatemongers, Charlie Bible Thumps, or even -- God forbid -- George Bushes. "
"Young friends, my opponent, Joe Quimby, is confused about your school system. Do you know what he does? He flip-flops."
"That was a _big_ mistake, Bart. No children have ever meddled with the Republican Party and lived to tell about it."
" Bob: Only _I_ could have executed such a masterpiece of electoral fraud. And I have the records to prove it! Here, just look at these -- [pulls out binders and floppy disks] each one a work of Machiavellian art.
Judge: But why?
Bob: Because you _need_ me, Springfield. Your guilty conscience may force you to vote Democratic, but deep down inside you secretly long for a cold-hearted Republican to lower taxes, brutalize criminals, and rule you like a king. That's why I did this: to protect you from yourselves. Now if you'll excuse me, I have a city to run. "
