This is the text of the speech given by LTC Randolph C White to the Infantry Training Brigades [2-58 Alpha, 2-19 Charlie] that graduated training on 21 April, 2006.
I asked the LTC personally for a copy of the speech and he provided it.
PRIDE...THATS ALL I CAN SAY.
My son started Airborne training yesterday...
Congrats, you have every right to feel proud. I, for one, am happy for you.
Congratulations and may GOD bless this young soldier!
Hooahh!
That photo brings back memories of 38 years ago.
Congrtaulations and thanks for sharing with us.
Not to burst your bubble, but the first thing that came to my mind when I read your post was "how long will it be before Dean,Kerry,Clinton and Clinton will be calling kids like this war criminals?".
For Kerry,it will probably be within a few weeks. The junior Senator from Chappaqua will probably wait a little longer.
KEEP SHOUTING THIS ONE!!!
My thanks and congratulations to your son for his service.
Huu - Ahhh!
Congrats. I was there two years ago with my son. I know the feeling. After two years and his tour in Iraq, I am even more proud of my son, and know you will be also.
ALL THE WAY!
HOOOO--AAAAHHHH!!!
Be sure to post us a pic with your son showing off those jump wings, freshly pinned on that popped-up chest!
"THE SNIDE ARROGANT CROWD WHO SPEND THE DAY BLAMING AMERICA FOR EVERY WRONG IN THE WORLD BEFORE GOING HOME TO SLEEP AT NIGHT UNDER THE BLANKET OF FREEDOM PROVIDED BY BETTER MEN! ...BETTER MEN SUCH AS YOU STANDING ON THE GRADUATION FIELD."
Amen to that. The snide and arrogant however, never get the irony. Better men and women than they could ever hope to be defend their every breath. Congratulations to those fine young men, and may God be with them.
Congratulations!!! I remember in 1993 how proud I was when my son graduated from Basic Training at Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo.
May God keep your son safe and Bless his service.
Congrats! A fine looking soldier you have there. He should be able to call home more often during jump school. It goes fast.
You will look back with fondness remembering when your little boy became a real man. Basic training is something none can describe, but anyone who has been through it knows they earned the right to wear the uniform with pride. Congratulations to your son, and may his life be one of happiness and contentment, and congratulations to you too,you raised a fine young man we are all proud of, and for!
I'd like to THANK YOU for being a great parent. I'd also like to THANK YOU for sharing your son with us.
Hoorah from the parent of a Marine rifleman! I served in the Brown Water Navy, but my son chose to join the Marine Corps, the men's department of the US Navy. This is a hard and scary job for him, and you are about to enter an entirely different world as a parent. Other people just talk about letting go.
I went through the same week when my son finished infantry school at Ft. Benning in December. I have never been so proud of my son or my country than I was then. He also went on to airbourne school. He will be going to Iraq in August. God Bless our sons and our country!
Infantry leads. God Bless every 11 Bravo. They are the best of men in the toughest of jobs.
thank you for raising such a fine man. My family and I rest safely because of men such as him.. thank you so much and may he return to you safe and sound.
