Sorry. But despite the hoopla around here, it's not the number on issue for most.
Gas Prices on the other hand...something that the President really can't do much about actually.

>>How many ways and how many times does it have to be said: FR is not representative of the real world OR the GOP. <<
I remember certain Freepers were saying this exact thing when the FR polls showed that people were opposed to the disastrous Harriet Miers nomination.
There were certain Freepers (I won't mention names) who staunchly defended the nomination prior to it being scrapped, and lashed out at those who opposed the nomination as not being a true representation of the GOP or America.
What a laugh that turned out to be, eh?

I believe we outnumber them actually, but they pretty much go around spamming every thread on FR so it looks like there's a lot of them.
I usually just shrug it off and move on to the next thread, but it's really ticked me off lately.

It may be 30 percent here, but it will be the same One Percenters it always is.

I believe 40 years of democrat-run schools have surely reaped a terrible harvest.
Most of our young people today do not even know who are Vice President is .. and this is exactly how the democrats like it .. the more stupid you are the more easily you can be influenced by any lies.
The "kook" left is a prime example.

CONGRESS and the liberals and RINO's therein are the real problem, in my opinion. Anything Bush WANTS to do is squashed like a fly. I don't agree with everything he's done but much of what he's tried to do has been hogtied by the demonrats. And if they lie loud and long enough, the sheep will believe it.

President Bush never was a true conservative and we all knew that from the beginning. So why should we complain now?

Amen, Howlin. The Bible tells us NOT to speak ill of a brother and wow, God's not happy with a lot of us here.

I did it through the Department of Motor Vehicles here in NY State. They had something on the license registration that I checked. Worked for us!

I have to tell you that I'm a little stunned by your comment. Tell that to the Irish or the Italians who have incredibly strong connections with their kinsmen for many generations. In fact, there Scandinavian Heritage Days and Italian Heritage Days in lots of towns across American.
What people of Mexican/Hispanic descent (legals and born-Americans) are worried about is that employers will be held completely responsible for guessing whether or not an individuals documentation is real. If that happens, many employers will make decisions based solely on heritage, because they will be leery of the risk of hiring anyone of Mexican/Hispanic descent.
That is not about strong ties to their kinsmen...that is fear of being cut out of the job market and seems like a reasonable fear.
To: pollyannaish
There are a lot of Hispanics besides Mexican and Hispanic is not a RACE.
And most are not invading us at alarming rates...except for some Salvadorans and Guatemaltecos
But if it takes employers being wary of hiring what you refer to as Hispanics to stop this invasion of illegals then I can sure as Sam Hill live with that.
As an employer, I am hesitant to employ kids myself or Muslims and to be candid, I lose little sleep over all that.
But you go ahead. Feel their pain for all of us.

Or they will be voting out RINOs and praying that the Senate and Jorge don't get their way by 2008 and maybe some serious GOPers will get some traction over this issue that the others ignore or pander to.

Then you are openly admitting to discriminating based on race or religion?
You may find this odd, but I am ok with discrimination based on just about anything and tend to be a very libertarian about hiring practices at this point in our nations history.
BUT, if you are doing that, you are only selling your own business short. There are great employees of every stripe. So while you have a right to not hire kids or Muslims or Mexicans, you are eliminating a lot of great potential workers in the process. So its your loss.
I don't feel pain about it, but I do understand why they might worry. I am assuming that "empathy is for weenies" in your book. Again, that is fine. I just prefer to have some compassion and empathy for my fellow man, which does not, btw, preclude the application of consequences.
To: Reagan Man
You are right.
Sadly the so called Republican party has failed real conservatives like us.
Since the Republican party has abandoned us and become more like the Democratitc Party of the 1960's it is time for a new party -- yes I know it is

What a sheltered life you must live:
http://archives.cnn.com/2002/US/Central/09/27/bank.slayings/
At least 20% of the illegal aliens in this country are violent criminals. This sort of thing happens every day in this country, and the response from both sides of the aisle is something like, "But, you don't want to pay $6 for a head of lettuce, do you?"
Since that day in 2002, the U.S. Bank in Norfolk has been razed. In its place is a memorial. IN a way, it's very similar to the place where the World Trade Center used to stand. For the people of Norfolk, this was their 9/11. How many more of these little 9/11s do we have to endure before something is done?
