I am sorry, but this smells like a Kristol maneuver. Why would he do this?

1. Jealousy of Tony Snow

2. Opportunity to make the White House distrustful of Tony from the get-go.

3. Opportunity to play the big cheese.

4. A way to stick it to Roger AIles, who has never given him his own show.

I bet Kristol was sucking up to people in legal and personnel at Fox, trying to find out about Tony's contract negotiations or whether or not the FBI had contacted them about vetting his background.

You see, I KNOW how Kristol works. He is like Iago in Otohello skulking around the halls of Congress and the restaurants of the Beltway, picking up little tidbits of information and dropping poisonous comments where they will do the most harm.
