Strange how all of Tony Snow's comments are being purged from FR. I see no logical purpose in that. It makes FR look like stooges of the RNC.

So you can't find the logic in this. FR looks like an RNC stooge site to you. Yet you remain here.

What, then, does that say about yourself?

This is a ch__ch. What's missing?

I hope you can learn to start taking your medication again. It will stop the delusions.

I have no delusions. I'll take a real Reagan conservative like Tony Snow over President Bush any day.

News, by its very nature, is fact. I don’t know what the original poster saw on TV but I can tell you that all day yesterday CNN was reporting that Tony Snow was “leaning towards” accepting the job. Most of us know that that does not mean he actually took the job.

As long as the MSM realizes that there are people out there like you that don’t know FACT from RUMOR they will serve up the kind of news you deserve: “fake but accurate”. I like to hold my news sources to higher standards. That is what the issue was about, not the link.

Subsequently Tony Snow has truly accepted the job. I watched the press conf this morning where he was in great form. We wish him the best.

Tony Snow is accused on this site of being about as much for "amnesty" as is President Bush. I don't know it, but that is what I constantly read. And Tony Snow is opposed to the death penalty. And worked for George Herbert Walker Bush, whom so many on here despise.

As for the great Ronald Reagan, he did the true amnesty where they just legalized everybody who was here, and we are paying for it now. He was determined to put the first woman on the Supreme Court and she turned out to be Sandra Day O'Conner. In addition, Reagan pulled our troops from Lebanon after terrorists killed a bunch of them in a Beirut barracks, then he had a ship of ours shell the Lebanese coast, which did nothing at all about the problem and just made us look weak.

I love Reagan, but you are ridiculous in your ILL-INFORMED HERO WORSHIP, whether it be Reagan or Tony Snow.

You are no better than anyone who strongly supports President Bush.

I don't think McClellan was a conservative. I think that's why he was so pathetic in the position. He was saying what he was told to say; not saying something he believed in. So long as they let Tony speak from his heart - this appointment will do wonders for Bush's approval ratings.
jmho...

Like Lincoln in the Civil War Bush has to put up with attacks from naysayers, fanatics, liars and quibblers while trying to defend this nation from attack by absolute lunatics. I hope to make his job easier.

The delusionary (who generally vote for candidates incapable of getting more than 2% of the vote) line up with the Enemy while sniveling that THEY are the real conservatives. Actions speak much louder than rhetoric.

And Tony Snow is opposed to the death penalty.

What does that matter in a Press Secretary?

If you take my comment out of context, you lose the point.

You're right; it doesn't matter in a press secretary.

I was responding to the poster who claimed that Tony Snow was a Reagan Conservative even as the poster was bashing and bashing Bush. I pointed out where Tony was not a down the line conservative in Reagan's or anyone's mold. Neither was Reagan perfectly conservative, as I also noted.

This poster did not seem very informed but sure did like to spout ad hominem insults OR boilerplate hero worship.

Largely because of Snow's membership in the CFR, which many industry observers believed was his hope for opening a door for him when the anchor positions at the national news networks were opening up. His radio show proved spectacularly dismal at opening up in major radio markets in prime talk time, and those who knew him from his newspaper days in Norfolk and Washington [can't say about Detroit] were pretty derisive about his switch from ink-and-paper to become a radio *crooner,* H.L. Menckin's term for newspaper guys who fell in love with the sound of their own voice on the airwaves.

The Bush/Fox/CFR position on *amnesty* can be found in the CFR position paper Building a North American Community is described and linked *here*. To what degree Snow really believes and supports it and how much is related to his past hopes of landing a swell job like the one he just got only he knows. But either way, a lot of Americans don't care for having it forced down their throats as they pay to have their country given away.

Tony is prolife on both sides of the aisle. Many Catholics are by the way, inculding me.

BTW, plenty will remember me when I'm gone...the ones that matter.

By whom? Nevermind, don't answer that. We don't need more of your wasted bandwidth.

I came to this thread to revel in Tony's success. Please take your carping to another thread; so as not to ruin this one for the rest of us. Please try to have some common decency if not some common sense.

Thank you.
