Beers worked as the head of intelligence programs on President Bill Clinton’s National Security Council staff and later served as a top deputy on counter-terrorism for President Bush in 2002 and 2003.

The flashing neon theme for Republicans to learn (can Republicans learn?) from the Bush years is FIRE ALL THE DEMOCRATS.

I can't believe how stupid the W. administration has been in leaving Clinton appointees in high places. Unbelievably stupid.

A long time ago (maybe a year or so), Senator Wayne Allard was on television (CSPAN) on morning journal. I called in and got through. I asked Mr. Allard what was the status of the Rockerfeller memo (it was around the time that Hannity had revealed that memo). Mr. ALlard told me that Rocky and the memo had been referred to the Ethics Committee. The Ethics committee will refer items to the DOJ, if warranted. So perhaps all of this relates back to that and the talker right now is Rocky himself??? (Hey, I like to get into the conspiracy game too)! None-the-less, the outing of Mary McCrathy as a traitor is a good step, and her name was probably released so as to catch more of the damn democrats who are working to undermine our country.

ATTENTION! Rand Beers was employed by the CIA as a career employee, aka CIVIL SERVICE. The President was prohibited, BY LAW, from firing him simply because he was a democrat.

President Bush replaced all of the political appointees in the first year of his administration. Civil Service employees are protected from firing unless there is "cause," such as theft, embezzlement, unauthorized leaking of classified material, etc.

I am getting really tired of seeing this attack on the President for not "firing all of the democrats," when, if he had done so, it would have been grounds for impeachment.

One more time: it is against the law to fire civil service employees because of their political affiliation.

These are all pretty much career positions. When the old regime leaves town, some of them stay behind and take top level, but otherwise OPEN career positions ~ just like they were a normal hire.

They then receive Civil Service protection. At the CIA that "ain't much", but it's something. This woman has been in and out of the agency on and off for years. They probably thought they had a real, but non-partisan winner. Obviously "they" were wrong.

Remember, the guys who hired the Rosenbergs didn't get electrocuted.

Yup, Dubya's "turn-the-other-cheek" Christianity got the better of him...yet again.
