U.S. Rep. Cynthia McKinney refused to answer questions Monday about grumblings she made about her communications director this past weekend.
The embattled congresswoman who already faces a possible arrest for allegedly punching a Capitol police officer apparently forgot she left her microphone on when she stepped away from a videotaped interview. McKinney proceeded to call her communications director Coz Carson "a fool" for arranging the interview in the first place.
McKinney, surrounded by reporters, photographers, and Carson, arrived at the state Capitol on Monday to file paperwork to qualify for her upcoming re-election campaign. Both she and her primary challenger wanted to talk only about what would happen in the district they represent in DeKalb County.
"I appreciate the support of the people of the 4th Congressional District because they know I told the truth about September 11th, they know I told the truth about George Bush's war, and can you imagine that now, in this election season, we're talking about a nuclear strike on a country?" McKinney said with Carson by her side.
McKinney declined to talk about the Capitol Hill episode or the taped comments she made about Carson. She said her campaign will be about bringing jobs to the 4th District.
McKinney's challenger, Hank Johnson, charged that McKinney has failed to deliver for her district because she cannot maintain good relationships in Washington, D.C.

Actually, she's very good for conservatives. She's SO crazy she's driving good people out of the Dem Party. I'm not kidding, I've talked to people who say because the Party tolerates her, they will NEVER vote Democrat again.
I've looked at her on tv a few times, and one thing I always wondered was this.
Is she just an ornery racist, or is she REALLY as crazy as she acts?
The way she came back and looked at the reporter after he caught her off the cuff comments was creepy.

Someone needs to throw a net on her, and I wonder why the hell she hasn't been arrested yet for punching the cop? I tend to think that if she hasnt been already, it ain't gonna happen.
