Don't just homeschool. Turn off the TV, cut the cable, throw out the satelite, get rid of the xbox/game cube: they all push violence as an acceptable option to our kids. Kids see things on tv and in video games that we as parents would never condone.

Take the $30 or more per month that is spent on cable or satelite and send it to Compassion International (or any other Christian respectiable child sponsorship program). That way you save two lives: your child's and someone else's.

Here is another alternative.

Have cable, but dont let children watch the crap on it. There are programs on tv that are not bad for children (sports, etc).

Homeschooling is great, but it is not for everyone.

The problem here is a lack of morals and values in society as a whole. It is more acceptable to be a gay man or a lesbian woman than it is to be a born again christian in society right now, that is very sad.
