Cozar instead of prinivil. Asians may develop a cough with prinivil, but not with cozar. White folks gobble both down like jellybeans.
I've known white people who stopped taking an ACE inhibitor because of unrelenting cough. It may be more prevalent in Asians, but is certainly not exclusive to them.
I've also treated many patients with angioedema (which can be life-threatening) caused by ACE inhibitors. Most of them have been black, but I've seen it in many white patients also.
P.S. I once took care of a white lady with sickle cell disease, on the same day I took care of a black guy with cystic fibrosis!
Cozaar is an angiotensin receptor blocker. Prinivil is an angiotensin converting enzyme(ACE) inhibitor.
